ISTANBUL AKU DATANG
HAPPY 10/11/12!!!
A classic sequential date. Sure ramai orang kawen hari ni kan? And if you feel sad that a uniquely patterned calendar date has passed, not to worry. There’s always the next day. So boleh kawen time tu ok? Hehe. It's going to be a long holiday. Deepavali on Nov 13 and Awal Muharram on Nov 15. And I have firm replacement leave in between on Nov 12. Lets just continue doing nothing, goyang kaki, for now. Boleh kan? Hehe. But then, so many undone things need to be done and plans are popping up like nobody's business! Sobs. So I have been reading a lot of Turkey, recently. And it must be Turkey's cinema time this year; Taken 2 was filmed in Istanbul, but apparently it is nowhere as good as the first. New Bond movie, Skyfall also has been shot in Istanbul and Adana, Turkey. Tapi itu semua cerita orang putih. Pernah dengar ISTANBUL AKU DATANG?  ISTANBUL AKU DATANG!  P L O TIn a one-liner synopsis, Istanbul Aku Datang or Istanbul Here I Come, of course was filmed in Istanbul. The title itself is pretty self-explanatory. 8,000 km mencari cinta. Sanggup? Haha. Well, true love is blind. Dian (Lisa Surihani), a bubbly blogger girl flew all the way to Istanbul to get her boyfriend, Azad (Tomok) to propose and to put a ring on her finger! Tapi bila Dian dah sampai Istanbul, he's not very happy and he is a man who keeps his distance. At first, Dian ni stay rumah Azad but she is forced to find her own place to stay for obvious reason; it's not good for unmarried couples to stay together. Then ada lah benda jadi sana sini, Dian is then cheated into staying with Haris (Beto Kusyairy), another man and a complete stranger. Kena tipu punya pasal la ni. So Dian and Haris ni memang macam anjing dengan kucing, pantang jumpa, then gaduh. Hehe. Lepas tu, banyak lah benda lain yang jadi lagi and finally Dian must choose between the two men in her life. So apa lagi, follow Dian on her Turkish adventures in her search for her true love!  She's lost! C O M M E N T SIstanbul Aku Datang has everything you could ask from a romantic comedy. Predictability is always a factor. But, do we really watch these types of movies expecting to be surprised at the ending? Tak kan? The plot is refreshingly unpredictable and this movie is good to watch to get a good laugh, and it teaches you a lot about finding your love. Kadang-kadang, people cheat on one another in relationships and try to hide it as long as possible from their significant other. So women should be aware of some of the common signs that their boyfriend is cheating on them. Tapi itulah, sometimes, these signs do not always guarantee that your boyfriend has another girlfriend pun. So what should we do then?  Lisa Surihani (Dian) & Beto Kusyairy (Haris) The characters are incredibly well developed, its funny, warm-hearted and real. Lisa ni memang kayu kayan kalau berlakon, but she improved a lot. Maybe sebab lebih kurang character dia je in real life, a bubbly little girl. And she is so so so cute. Beto, need I say more? He is such a great actor. Tapi tak berapa nak popular sangat kan? I mean yes, tak la macam Aaron Aziz or Adi Putra yang kencang je projek masuk. Hehe. But, he's really good. Muka melayu habis. Muka jawa orang kata. Hahaha. Tapi did I mention anywhere that I like this kind of garing, muka melayu semua ni, contoh macam Khairy J? Hahaha. Ok ok, merepek meraban dah ni. Full stop! Kekeke. Tomok pulak. Haih. Tengok dia je nak tergelak. Hehehe. Sebab face expression dia kelakar. Kalau dia cakap memang macam nak tergelak je. Ahahaha. Tak pandai pun dia berlakon tapi ok la first attempt dia kot kan. Dalam cerita ni, he's a medic student. And konon-konon nerd, tapi ada girlfriend lain? Benci betul orang macam ni. Can you just stick to one person at a time? Hmmm, long distance relationships really are built on loyalty, trust and respect. Oh God, I'm so emotional just talking about it. Sobs.       Hehehe ;p. Ni dekat Jeju Island, Korea (2010) This film was directed by Bernard Chauly. Kalau jenis layan cerita dia Gol & Gincu, Pisau Cukur, then Istanbul Aku Datang ni kena tengok. Scriptwriter dia Rafidah 3R, bukan Rafidah Jacob occay! Kekeke. Fida Jacob is conservative, cerita ni sangat lah urban nya. Tu salah satu benda yang orang-orang duk komen lah kot. Duduk serumah even unmarried. Mana boleh kan. Tapi take it lightly, cerita je ni. So layankan je lah.    Her room in Istanbul. Cantik pulak kaler purple ni.   Colour blocking! Tapi comel!
