RANDOM MUMBLING
I'm awake mostly because of the super short time between Isha' and Subuh (3 hours gap) and I just had a simple sahur, 2 glasses of water, orange and also a glass of milk. As simple as it may seem, I am still having a hard time to sahur right after buka puasa 5 hours ago. Still kinda full though. Sobs. Flat tummy no more! Hahaha. Perasan kau kan. Hiks. So, I was browsing through my summer trip pictures today and I was soooo happy to have had 16 days spent with my brother, travelling from one country to another. It just hit me how much I miss those days! Anyway, I'm going to Stratford Upon Avon (the place where Shakespeare was born) in few hours and here's hoping that this trip would not be terribly difficult (despite of fasting month), and that we'd be able to meet many interesting people along the way! Last but not least, since #anokkelatedibirminghae posted something on his blog about our juadah berbuka, so this is my first attempt at cooking something from scratch but at the end of the day, all gone into dustbin. Sobs. Unsatisfied craving. Kuah tak jadi. Hmmm. Will be going to Manchester this Friday so Nini, please please please satisfy my craving, nak laksaaaaaaa. Teringin sangat ni. My all time fav! Hehe. I'm so bad at cooking. REALLY BAD. Sooo, akak pasrah! Tapiiii, the effort that counts, kan? Hehehe. Will try harder next time. Buat masa ni, menumpang rumah orang je la untuk berbuka ahahaha. Rumah siapakah ituuu? Hiks. Rasakan! Padan muka kau. Good night lovelies! Selamat berpuasa! Labels: LIFE IN THE UK, Paris, Random, Travel
AU REVOIR, PARIS!
![]() I'm soooo sorry for the long silence. Was on summer trip for the past 2 weeks, so I haven't been able to update. And I'm glad to be back now though. At first, I naively thought there will be lot of opportunities to blog, hence I brought my lappy along. But I was wrong. Hehe. Spending all day exploring the city, I really need to have a good night rest before starting an equally tiring day after. And what a trip this was. Penat but it was so fun! I thoroughly enjoyed my summer break, 16 days in all. What we managed of; France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, England, Luxembourg and Portugal. I'm sad that the trip is over now but I am also excited to be back home to some normalcy. And I think I'm a teensy bit sunburnt. Hehe. And I was so lucky to catch the blinking lights of the Eiffel Tower at night. The twinkling lights made the whole picture looks sooo romantic. Sobs. Please enjoy my 15 secs video of blinking Eiffel. And Melly's Eiffel I'm In Love music as a background. Sooo breathtaking! Can't wait to blog more. Much to say! Labels: Europe, France, Paris, Summer, Travel
EIFFEL, I'M ...
I am so scared for my exam tomorrow, so that's why I'm here, writing again. My focus was really lost and I felt very overwhelmed. But anyway I did everything I could, and now Bismillahi Tawakal to al Allah; in Your name Allah, I put my trust in. Sebab dah lama sangat tak ambik exam, takut dia lain macam. Then after my exam next week, I'll be going to Paris and few other places with my brother. Summer Trip! Hehe. He'll be coming soon. Yeay! Tak sabarnya. Belacan, budu, semua ni dia bawak nanti. Hahaha. Dasar #villagepeople kan. Hiks. Harap-harap lepas la kastam tu nanti. If not, menangis tak berlagu la kak long dia ni. I have been to Paris once in 2012, and I suppose there aren't many new places I'd like to go to. Just the usual hotspots. Eiffel Tower is a must! I loveeee Eiffel so much. And I'm keen to go to Jardins Du Château de Versailles or maybe the Love Lock Bridge that crosses the Seine River. And I think this trip is going to mean more to me than I would ever think it would. Journey of self-discovery. It's just the brand new kind of me. Picture credit : WallpapersHD for iPhone Labels: Europe, LIFE IN THE UK, Paris, Random
(NOT SO) WORDLESS WEDNESDAY - PARIS JE T'AIME
![]()
PARIS JE T'AIME...
Compilation of 18 films (+/- 5 minutes each), different directors, different locations, different stories.
A film for lovers :). It has some degree of sadness. Melancholy. Bittersweet.
And a joy of being ALIVE. Alhamdulillah.

CINTA JANGAN PERGI
![]() My new obsession. Cinta Jangan Pergi ![]() Once upon a time in London! Hehe.
So ok. Bukan nak cerita pasal Oblivion or Tom Cruise pun. Biasalah melencong. Hehe. The best part pasal Cinta Jangan Pergi ni kan, it was beautifully shot in EUROPE. First two episodes dah selamat keluar last week. I was in Melaka bersuka ria jadinya memang dah terlepas premiere. But thanks to TONTON, Cinta Jangan Pergi can now be watched online. Senang sikit hidup tak payah nak berdownload bagai. Episode malam tadi pun terlepas sebab sibuk layan Oblivion. Besok pagi kita Tonton ok.
Sinopsis Cinta Jangan Pergi lebih kurang macam ni. Si Tiz Zaqyah (Lea Soraya) pergi Europe Trip, alone and she bumped into Remy Ishak (Khalil). Ada lah drama in between bukan senang-senang je si Lea ni nak suka Khalil ok, tapi tu lah orang tua-tua cakap, jangan duk benci sangat, nanti tersuka. Haha.
Scene yang paling terkesan sangat-sangat kat hati yang satu ni, bila Khalil proposed dekat Interlaken. One of my dreams uols. Tak agak-agak sangat berangan orang nak propose dekat Swiss. Memang akan jadi angan-angan sampai bila-bila lah ni. Kekeke. Well Swiss ni memang my honeymoon destination, tapi rasa macam it won't happen in the near future. Jadinya, rentikan lah angan-angan nak follow Lisa Surihani and Yusry honeymoon kat Swiss ok. Bahaha. So, my friends and I plan to go this year and hopefully jadi kenyataan lah ni. Swiss is so damn expensive, duk buat bajet ikut mana pun, still macam tu jugak. MAHAL sesangat.
![]() ![]() ![]() Bila tengok Tiz and Remy berlakon dekat Europe ni terus teringat kenangan Europe tahun lepas. We met on a plane to Paris. So macam biasalah, borak sikit-sikit hi hi bye bye and that was it. But we bumped into each other again, kali ni dekat The Curve. And the rest is for me to know. Hehe. Well, sometimes, things just don't go our way. ![]() Bonjour Paris, why I miss you? Labels: Europe, Paris, Random, Travel
MAGIC BOULEVARD
![]() François Feldman - Magic Boulevard Hmmm. Seriously memang tak faham pun lagu ni pasal apa. Dah kata pun, French. Haha. Tapi melody dia so sad. Layankan je lah ok? Oh Paris, when can I see you again...
PARIS (DAY 3) - OM NOM NOM BERTHILLON ICE CREAM!
![]() Pernah pergi Setia City Mall? Located in Setia Alam, Shah Alam and it's just a short drive from my house. 10 minutes? 15 minutes? Ala, dekatla senang cerita. Hehe. Setia City Mall grand opening was held in May 2012. But I went there just recently, last week masa cuti panjang tu. Picture above was taken sebelum jadi huru-hara, from one shop to another. Keke. And, I really, really, really like this place! I can hit all my favorite stores at once. The selection of stores make for great window shopping. Some of my notable favorites; Cotton On, Kitschen, Zara, Mango, Nichii, La Senza, M.A.C, Bobbi Brown, Uniqlo, Cache Cache and H&M! Oh ada Aldo jugak but too bad I can only shop the sales. Sigh. Why do Aldo shoes have to be so damn expensive? Sobs. Ada Chatime! Hehe. Have you tried mini pearl? Sedap ok. Latest promotion sekarang ni, FREE mini pearl winter melon juice with every drink purchase! So, apa lagi? You SHOULD try! Hehe. Lagi ada Crabtree & Evelyn and Pandora! ![]() Pandora bracelet Oh God I want Pandora bracelet so bad. Cantiknya! My friend, Ain, hubby dia baru bagi benda alah ni masa first anniversary. I is jelly sangat-sangat dah ni. Then few days ago, I noticed my colleague, Juliane pun pakai. I is meroyan sorang-sorang uols. It is expensive. First you buy the bracelet, then you buy the beads separately and they are like RM400 each! Well no, not all of them anyway. But still, mahal nya harga sebijik. Bonus oh bonus, where are you baby? Hmm, susah betul kalau semua benda pun nak. Travel pun nak, shopping pun nak! Fidaaaaa, can you just choose one!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hehehe. Ok, ok cukup. Jom sambung Paris - Day 3 (Part 3). Click HERE for previous entry. 28 APRIL 2012 (Cont'd)![]() Eiffel, I'm In Love : music by Melly Goeslow I see Paris not as the MOST romantic city in the world, but yes it is the "City of Lights" and a big maze of a place where I can convenient go to get myself lost. And I love that feeling of wandering; Paris is PERFECT for that. I do like Paris.Yes, I do. But, I admit that there are things that the city itself has failed to impress me. The strange odour in the metro, the dirty sidewalks and the crowds of the people everywhere. But one thing about Paris, it is a city filled with music, art and culture. There are streets where entire galleries and art shops can be found, like a heaven for the true artist. Then if you turn a corner to the next area, you'd find a whole bunch of street musicians performing for an audience that is willing to pause and listen. Such is Paris. I love street performers. There is no better way to snap out of reality for a few short minutes. Or maybe it is just what reality is. Ahh, it seems like you can find a concert anywhere in Paris, even on the metro. In fact, I had my first "dream Paris" moment on the metro to 'Pont Marie' station, when an accordion player hopped onto the train and started playing what sounded like typical French music; La Vie en Rose. I felt like I was in "Paris in the movies". So leisurely, slightly romantic and a little dreamy. It was quite an enjoyable moment. I just love that kind of music and it is funny how certain song just bring back memories. Hmmm, seriously Paris just bring tears to my eyes. Ok we have seen The Louvre and Mona Lisa, so what's next? We would like to join the free walking tour at 1.00 pm but then it was 11.00 something when we left The Louvre and it was still early to go to the meeting point. So we stopped by Berthillon Ice Cream to see what the fuss was all about. This place gets a lot of hype. Travel shows and tour books generally mention it, so there will likely be tourists when you arrive. My advise; disregard them. Haha. You are all gathered for the same reason. Some say it's the best ice cream in Paris and some even say it's the best in the world. Not sure I would go that far but the ice cream was fabulous. I still remember the taste of Berthillon ice cream. Sedappppp! ![]() There are many places that offer Berthillon ice cream, all over Paris, but their main store is on an island in the center of Paris at 31 rue St. Louis-en-l'Ile. There isn't one restaurant on the island that doesn't serve some of Berthillon ice cream and sorbet. But, I wanted to go to the original, the main store for the experience of it. And honestly, I didn't regret it. So once on the island, just follow the crowd. Kalau tak, just ask around. Bonjour! Excusez-moi, où est "Bear-tee-yone"?Hahahahaha. I did learn some basic French ok. I did, I did. Few years ago. Hehe. Mula-mula we pronounced Berthillon as Berthillon. Haha. Macam mana eja, macam tu lah pronounce. But then, the Parisians cakap macam ni uols; Ahhhh, "Bear-tee-yone"?Hahahahaha. Berbelit-belit lidah nak menyebutnya. Kalau dah namanya makan belacan kan. Hahahah. So in summer, the queues at Berthillon are so long that it takes an hour to get your ice cream. Spring is the perfect time to go to Berthillon. There are so many different flavors that it was very difficult to settle. After much deliberating and asking which are the best flavors for us to try, then we chose hazelnut, caramel and pistachio. Sharing is caring. Hehe. Pistachio tu sedap. And hazelnut pun. And caramel pun! Hahahaha. How? Semua pun sedap. Berthillon is known for its luxury ice cream, so it also comes with its luxury prices. I can't remember how much exactly does it cost. Haha. Tak mahal sangat kot. 5 to 7 Euros maybe? Jangan convert! :) In short, it was fabulous. I also like how Berthillon uses natural ingredients and natural flavorings; no preservatives or artificial sweeteners. The pistachio... it was the best I've ever had. And, all we had for lunch was, that Berthillon ice cream! Sigh. No more money!

PARIS DAY 3 : THE LOUVRE
![]() A little unhappy with my seat. It was a little far off to the side. Jauh, nampak tengok semut je kat bawah tu. Haha. Tiket free uols. What do you expect? Hehe. Sedih. But still, I can't express my delight. Hehe. Now I've got "Teh-el me, Teh-el me, dadadadadaada" stuck in my head. Hahahaha. Wonder Girls : Tell Me So, when I was like 20 years old kot (sobs, those good old days), I can still remember learning their dance moves. Hehe. Dance tutorials are available on Youtube, so apa lagi, I was just having fun with it. Hahahaha. Gigih! Zaman muda-muda khen. Hehe. Overall, the concert was great from start to finish and it was a great experience. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Click HERE for previous entry. 28 APRIL 2012 (Cont'd)![]() And Paris...it has a quite sentimental value for me. Someone is actually working there. We used to be so close but...Hmm, I just hope that "someone" is happy, wherever you are. Do you have any kids yet? Well, some things, I guess, are just meant to be. And, life goes on. So... where am I now? Melencong dah ni. Hehe. Oh, ok I was at The Louvre! :) The Louvre looks big from the outside but it's even bigger in the inside. I never imagined a museum will be like that! It was way bigger than I thought. Too many people kan. Most of them want to see a painting smaller than expected, Mona Lisa. So, jaga-jaga Cik Salmah! There are pickpockets in all sorts of crowded places. Serabut sungguh la pickpockets ni. Why can't you just disappear? Sobs. Louvre was the finest collection of French art and it made them (French people) sad that people went there to see the Mona Lisa (Italian) or the Winged Victory (Greek). Hmm, I have a confession to make; I'm not really a museum person and not a big fan of arts. So the thought of spending all day in museum, looking at work of arts, trying to find the meaning in each shape and colour, secretly terrifies me. After an hour or two, I would probably yawn. Hahaha. Menguap siap. Boleh? And when people say that A DAY in the Louvre is not enough? I was just smiling. Keke. Later I'll tell how much time we spent here. Hehe. So after we saw the most famous paintings of all, The Mona Lisa, where should we go now? ![]() Hmm sorry, I have to put these pictures because well it was about that time I noticed the Louvre contains classical paintings and sculptures of many naked men and women. Maybe one of the favorite subjects? Keluar je museum ni memang pening kepala. Banyak sangat kaedahnya. Kiri kanan depan belakang. Semua tempat la ada senang cerita. Rasanya kan, in order to enjoy a visit to this extraordinary museum, I would recommend getting an audio guide. Tengok auntie atas ni dengan headphone bagai. That's what she did. Bukan apa, too much of the information was only in French. Louvre ni pun satu. More information about the paintings should have been provided in English too. Ingat weols semua faham French ke? Merci. There are also few guided tours for an additional 10 euros and you can also rent a multimedia guide for 7 euros. Takpun susah-susah sangat, you can download Rick Steve's audio guide on your smart phone. Headphones on and off you go. Hehe. Hamboih. Senang nya cakap kan. But we did none of the above! Hahaha. We did self-guided tour sajork. And macam biasa, self-guided tours always end up with wrong assumptions and conclusions! Hahaha. This is my favorite. I adore this potrait. Madame Seriziat by Jacques-Louis David, 1795. Love the mint green on her white silk dress. The flowers and the little girl are pretty too. Hehe. Ni lah orang tak pandai seni, kau komen baju je la. Hahahaha. ![]() Look at the amazing details of the ceilings in the Louvre. Lovely. Most of the paintings are big. A good three meters tall, and about four meters wide. It's a very relaxing place to sit and enjoy the paintings, maybe? ![]() But, what did I do? Hmm. Lepas je ambil gambar ni, I was looking at everyone. They dutifully stared at the paintings. I was looking at the paintings too but had absolutely no idea what I was looking at. There's a woman, next to me, she was smiling while looking at one of the paintings. I try tengok apa yang dia tengok, ada la gambar orang ramai-ramai, ada yang berbaju ada yang tak, but I can't understand why she was smiling. Hahaha. I think the longer they stared at the painting, the more its beauty overwhelmed them. Kot la kan? Haha. Sesungguhnya, hanya jauhari yang mengenal manikam. And there are cafes too if you need energy to walk through this huge maze. Maze ke muzium ni uols. We got lost. Once or twice. Tak ingat dah berapa kali. But kesimpulannya, pusing-pusing tempat yang sama sampai naik menyampah. Hahaha. Tak jumpa jalan nak pergi tempat lain. How? That was the reason why we spent just 1 hour here! Can you believe that? Sejam. Orang kata muzium ni punyalah besar, 6 hari pun tak habis tengok. But we spent just one hour! Pengsan. Haha. Satu lagi sebab, semua pening kepala. Tu la banyak sangat tengok benda-benda tak sepatutnya ni. ![]() Louvre is a pretty interesting place, even for people who don't particularly like museums and you really have to be there to know how it feels to be stand right in front of the Louvre. If you ever find yourself in Paris, you should certainly drop by, and NOT just for the Mona Lisa. Hehe. Bye. Monday Blues! Sobs.
